Buy marijuana from drug dealers on social media telegram.

Police successfully seized more than 200 grams of cannabis flower and more than 100 grams of cannabis oil from multiple transactions.

After an in-depth investigation, the police identified a target unit believed to be a marijuana warehouse. After that, from August 12 to 16, 2022, the East Kowloon Region closed the net for the "Easy Wave" operation.

A 23-year-old man was arrested for smelling marijuana in a fire in his Tsuen Wan unit

At noon on Friday, August 12, the Kowloon East Regional Special Duty Team raided a target unit in Ngau Tau Kok Factory Building, seized about 3 kilograms of cannabis flowers in the unit, and arrested a 32-year-old man for "trafficking dangerous drugs" at the scene. A local man, aged 18, was charged earlier.

So far, the police have arrested a total of 22 people, including 18 men and 4 women, aged between 15 and 34, on charges including "trafficking of dangerous drugs" or "possession of dangerous drugs".

One of the arrested men, a 23-year-old, was in the "Chuanchenghui" unit of Dahe Road before being arrested. At 8:30 p.m. on Monday (15th), thick smoke came out, and the smell of suspected marijuana was heard.

Police officers arrived at the scene to investigate and searched the unit, and seized about 2.9 kilograms of marijuana flowers, a batch of packaging tools and three electronic scales. A small amount of charred marijuana flowers were also found in the unit's kitchen.

He Qihao pointed out that drug dealers use money to lure people with drug addiction habit to transport drugs and hide behind the scenes for profit.

In conclusion, the entire operation seized more than 6 kilograms of suspected cannabis-like drugs with a market value of more than 1.2 million yuan.

Among the 22 arrested persons, 14 are young people aged 20 or below, and 6 are minors.

It can be seen that the young people's awareness of law-abiding is weak, and the situation is cause for concern.

Senior Inspector Lee Kai-ming, Head of the Special Duty Team of the Kowloon East Region, said that the police have noticed an upward trend in the number of cannabis abusers in recent years, especially among young people.

In the past July alone, more than 60 percent of arrests under the age of 21 were related to marijuana in drug cases detected by the police.

Drug dealers use social media to sell drugs, use marijuana-related keywords or hashtags such as "#420", or set up some groups to recruit members and post marijuana information, and then privately message group members for transactions.

Police believe the rise in marijuana use is due to misconceptions about marijuana among young people.

In recent years, some Western countries have legalized recreational marijuana, which makes young people mistakenly believe that marijuana does little harm to the body, and even glorifies marijuana as an anti-stress or anti-depressant.

The police stressed that marijuana is a drug, and its derivatives are also regulated by law, and will continue to proactively combat marijuana cases through publicity, education and intelligence-led methods.

Fung Ka-hang, Senior Inspector of the Kowloon East Regional Crime Prevention Office, said that the police are very concerned about juvenile delinquency, and set up the "VALUE" operation to provide community support for people aged 10 to 18 and cultivate youth values. Schools, NGOs, and other government departments, etc., take a multi-pronged approach to increase law-abiding awareness by participating in different positive activities.

The action will hold a series of activities, including challenge training camp, Chinese marching, etc., to provide different learning experiences for young people.
