Today (Wednesday), the Department of Police Investigations submitted an indictment to the Haifa Magistrate's Court against a police officer from the police's coastal area, after he hit his partner on several occasions and threatened to kill her.
The acts were committed in front of their children and their minor daughter was also injured by the accused.
According to the indictment, which was filed through attorney Keren Lavi and investigated by a coastal team at the police investigation department, the couple have been married for about 13 years and have three children. During the couple's life together, the accused used physical and verbal violence towards the complainant, among other things, because He kissed her head and threatened her "if you don't shut up I will kill you", hit her and bruised her and broke things in their house.
In one of the cases, due to an argument between the couple, the defendant hit the complainant on her body and face, slapped her and suffocated her with a pillow, in front of their children.
At one point their eldest daughter hit the accused in the face in order to move him away from the complainant and the accused in response pushed her in the face.
In another case, due to an argument between the couple, the accused hit the complainant in the head with an object.
The indictment also states that the complainant was injured in the head in a way that caused her to bleed.
In another case, during an argument between the couple, the accused pushed the complainant against a wall in their home and as a result she injured her toe.
According to the indictment, on several occasions the defendant photographed his children and ordered them to falsely say that their mother was the one who hit them.
The indictment charges the accused with making threats, assaulting a spouse under aggravated circumstances, threats, malicious damage to property, assault under aggravated circumstances of a minor by a responsible person and testifying.
The Department of Police Investigations is asking the court to order the arrest of the accused until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
