Several explosions and fires occurred overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday August 17 in three provinces in southern Thailand, a region plagued by armed separatist conflict, authorities said.
Seven people were slightly injured in the incidents which concern the areas of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat, according to the army.
Seventeen locations were targeted, mostly convenience stores and gas stations, after midnight.
Police said they would retrieve CCTV footage and other evidence.

The reason behind the explosions has yet to be determined, according to authorities.
Insurgents most often target symbols of Thai authority or its security forces.
Since 2004, predominantly Buddhist Thailand has been grappling with a separatist insurgency in several Muslim-majority provinces near Malaysia, a conflict that has claimed nearly 7,300 lives, mostly civilians.
If attacks have become rarer since the 2014 coup, 113 people having been killed in 2021 against nearly 900 in 2007, according to figures from the organization Deep South Watch, peace negotiations remain bogged down.
