The Ministry of Culture announced the launch of the first national competition for Syrian choirs entitled “Syrian Heritage.”
In a statement to which SANA received a copy, the ministry specified the conditions for participating in the competition, including that the choirs have previously given concerts in the city in which they are located, that singing should be at least for two different voices, that all ages of the choir are from 18 years and above, and that the number of its members should not exceed 25 vocalists, including a leader. The choir and accompanying musicians, if any, and no less than 12 people.
The ministry also specified the terms of the music program for the participating choir that its program includes pieces from the heritage that represents the governorate or the city of the choir coming from it, and the program may include two pieces at most from non-heritage.
Choirs wishing to participate in the competition must send a live recording of two musical pieces distributed for several sounds to the e-mail designated for this, provided that at least one of the pieces is from the Syrian heritage.
The Ministry has set the last day for receiving applications until the end of official working hours, from next Thursday, September 15th.
It is scheduled that a special committee formed by a decision of the Minister of Culture will watch the recordings and conduct the preliminary qualifiers for the participation of the choirs that succeed in the preliminary qualifiers in the second stage to present two distributed pieces of heritage within a ceremony at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts. Dar Al-Assad Theatre.
