It is a nightmare for many travellers: Arriving at the holiday destination without a suitcase.

Doctor Mine S.'s luggage had not even been packed at Munich Airport.

Munich – Three weeks vacation with the family in the sun: Munich native Dr.

Mine S. (42) was really looking forward to the flight that brought her from Erdinger Moos to Bodrum on Saturday.

But no sooner had the Boeing landed in Turkey than the holiday mood was gone: both of the doctor's suitcases were missing - as was all the luggage of the other passengers.

Reason: Apparently again suitcase chaos at Munich Airport.

At 2 p.m. the Sun Express plane took off towards Bodrum on the south-west coast of Turkey, where it landed at 5.45 p.m.

"My husband and my daughter had flown a week earlier," says S., "I just had to get my two suitcases." But the 42-year-old waited in vain at the baggage carousel - like everyone else from the same plane.

"The staff explained to us that no suitcase had flown." She looked at her cell phone in disbelief: "I have so-called air tags in my luggage, small tracking devices that showed me that the suitcases were actually still in Munich."

Baggage trouble at Munich Airport: "I find it a scandal and absolutely outrageous"

Another luggage breakdown.

In the past few weeks, our newspaper has reported several times that suitcases in Munich are not loaded on time and are piling up at the airport.

The employees in Bodrum also report that "this is the second flight from Munich and the fifth from Germany this week that lands without luggage," says the doctor.

And: It could take up to seven days for the suitcases to arrive.

Mine S. is angry: "I find it a scandal and absolutely outrageous that you deliberately let your passengers start their hard-earned vacation without medication, clothing and hygiene items."

When asked by our newspaper, the airline SunExpress apologized: "Due to the lack of loading personnel due to the currently prevailing staff shortages at German airports, SunExpress was not able to transport the checked-in luggage of the passengers on individual flights as originally planned, which we very much regret." How long one has to wait for the luggage in Bodrum is not yet clear.

Anyway, Mine S. says: "I really hope that someone will help us soon and my vacation can finally begin."
