The Green faction in the Haar municipal council is campaigning for the municipality to specify one or more concentration zones for wind turbines in the land use plan.

Haar

– Citizens should be financially involved in possible wind turbines.

According to the Greens, this not only increases acceptance, but also benefits the people of Haar twice: income from wind power and lower electricity costs.

This can and should be planned and carried out by the municipal utilities.

On the other hand, wind turbines are a reliable source of trade tax revenue, argue Mike Seckinger and Ulrike Olbrich in the motion on behalf of the Greens parliamentary group.

More regenerative energies

"In view of the urgency of making progress in climate protection, the now very topical security policy considerations and in order to keep energy prices cheap and stable, the need to increase the proportion of renewable energy quickly and sustainably is undisputed," the Greens justify their motion.

Wind energy will play an important role in future electricity supply.

There is an urgent need to catch up in the region.

Neighboring communities and neighboring districts have already made their way.

As a first step, it is necessary to complete the designation of concentration zones for wind turbines, which has already been started in the past

Time is running out

In 2011, the Greens look back, the municipality and municipal council commissioned Team Markert to carry out an analysis to identify the parts of the municipality that are suitable for wind energy use and where this would be legally possible.

The process was not continued at the time, not least because of the introduction of the 10-hour rule.

In the meantime, the conditions have changed in the direction of the expansion of wind energy, which is why it is advisable to resume planning in this regard and bring it to a conclusion.

From the point of view of the Greens, the designation of one or more concentration zones in the land use plan would have the advantage that the municipality would be able to speed up the installation of wind turbines and take urban planning aspects into account.

Another reason for an accelerated expulsion is that the regional planning association should control the expansion centrally for the district of Munich.

With the designation of its own areas, the municipality of Haar can achieve greater acceptance among the citizens.

The council will consider the application after the summer break.
