In 2020 the Söchering music band turned 150 years old.

Due to Corona, the 152-year anniversary will be celebrated in the next few days.

A large music festival with many participants - from neighboring towns as well as from South Tyrol - will take place in Obersöchering from Friday, August 19th to Sunday, August 21st.

There are over 20 groups at the parade.

Obersöchering

– A major event is coming up in Obersöchering in the next few days: a music festival will be celebrated there from August 19th to 21st, with which the 152-year-old of the music band and the 57-year-old of the drummers from the village will be celebrated.

Actually, the 150-year-old and the 55-year-old should have been celebrated in 2020, but this was not possible due to the corona.

Now there is, among other things, a meeting of young musicians and a pageant.

The major event is held under the motto “Musician Friendships”.

The festival kicks off on

Friday, August 19th

at 7 p.m. in the “Heißhansl-Halle”, the festival hall, on Alpenstrasse in Obersöchering.

The brass band "Pro Mill" from Bad Feilnbach and - from 10 p.m. - the "Jochberg Musikanten" will play.

The celebrations will continue with a “Youth Day” on

Saturday, August 20th

.

From 11 a.m. to around 5 p.m. the youth bands of Söchering, Peißenberg-Forst, Ammertal and Riegsee-Staffelsee meet in the “Heißhansl-Halle”.

The "extensive supporting program" that the band announces on its website www.mk-soechering also includes a beer tray and a bouncy castle.

The commemoration of the dead at the war memorial (from 7 p.m.) is followed by a procession to the festival hall.

From 8 p.m. there will be a "friendship evening" with the "Bürgerkapelle Obermais" from Meran and the "Musikverein Lenzfried" from Kempten.

The band from South Tyrol turned 50 two years ago, the one from Kempten 25 years old.

On

Sunday, August 21,

there will be a church procession (assembly: 9.15 a.m., start: 9.30 a.m.) as well as a field mass in the school garden (from 10 a.m.) and a procession through the village.

The bands from the neighboring towns of Aidling and Spatzenhausen will then play in the festival hall, where there will be a bar on all three days.

At the end of the festival, the "Blechböhmische" will perform from 7 p.m.

Both the parade and the shorter church procession, which are led by the Söchering drummers and the Söchering music band, are in this order: Traditional costume club "Stoaröserl" from Söchering, guests of honor, Aidling-Riegsee drums, Aidling-Riegsee music band, Eberfing drums, music band Eberfing, Söchering veterans’ club, Spatzenhausen marching band, Spatzenhausen music band, Söchering rifle club, Obermais citizens’ band, Huglfing drums, Huglfing band, Iffeldorf-Antdorf band, Uffing drums, Uffing band, Söchering sports club, Lenzfried band, Antdorf drums, Habach band, Volunteer fire brigade Söchering, Oberland drummers and music band Eglfing.
