Once again, several residents of the Erding district were called by scammers.
The police warned again: Don't go into it, hang up, inform the police.
Erding
– Once again, several residents of the district of Erding were called by scammers.
Police report that in Wednesday's calls, the scammers pretended to be Europol officials or close relatives.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.)
They tried to gain the trust of the callers in order to get hold of their assets or data by reporting that a relative needed money urgently.
In the case of the alleged Europol staff, the story was that identity theft had taken place.
Those called recognized the attempted fraud, did not respond and ended the call, police said.
She again warns of such telephone fraudsters who try to get access data or the assets of the person called by pretending false facts.
You are advised not to respond to such requests over the phone, hang up and call the police.
Telephone scammers also like to pretend to be Microsoft employees.
It wasn't until early July that a man from the district fell for this trick.
The 65-year-old granted an alleged Microsoft employee remote access to the PC and was subsequently unable to access it.
