At least 30 people have been killed and dozens injured in deadly forest fires in northern Algeria.
Kamel Beljud, the country's interior minister, said 24 people were killed in al-Tarf, near the border with Tunisia, as well as a mother and daughter in Stif.
Firefighters and helicopters are still trying to contain some fires.
According to reports, 350 residents were evacuated from various areas.
The Civil Defense Agency said al-Tarf was the worst-hit area with 16 fires burning simultaneously.
Northern Algeria suffers from forest fires every year, last year about 90 people died in the fires - and more than 400 thousand dunams of forest burned.

So far this summer, 30 people have been killed in fires.
Other countries in the Mediterranean region are also witnessing severe fires this summer, including France, Greece, Spain and Italy.
