2022-08-18T08:36:38.185Z

As the end of the school holidays approaches, there are no “dark” days, but a very busy weekend with returns from the coastal regions. Ile de France is to be avoided after noon.

After a Thursday August 18 of calm on the roads, the weekend of the first returns from vacation promises to be busy.

Thursday, Bison Futé, the road information body, classified all of France as “

green

”, indicating a general traffic situation in the territory which does not prevent local difficulties (due to accidents in particular).

But the school holidays ending in a little over a week, the main roads will be loaded from Friday evening from the coastal regions to the major cities.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday “red” in the direction of the returns

Friday August 19 promises to be normal in the direction of departures, but the difficulties will begin at 10 a.m. in the direction of returns, from the coasts to the major cities.

Classified as “

red

”, these axes will remain charged until 8 p.m.

The busiest time slot nationally should be between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Advice from Bison futé: avoid the A13 motorway, between Rouen and Paris, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the A10 Bordeaux - Poitiers from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., the A8, between Nice and Aix-en-Provence, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. .

Also avoid the A71 motorway, between Clermont-Ferrand and Orléans, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the A61 between Narbonne and Toulouse, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and finally, the Mont-Blanc tunnel towards France from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. .

It could cost you more than an hour to wait!

Saturday August 20 will be the most difficult day of the weekend in both directions.

The difficulties will begin at 9am in the morning and will continue until the middle of the evening.

Peak traffic should be reached between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The difficulties will be particularly important along the Mediterranean and in the Rhone Valley.

Sunday 21 and Monday 22, congestion will be more limited, but traffic will remain heavy in the direction of returns throughout the day.

A smart advice from Bison for all those who go to or pass through Île-de-France this weekend: cross or return to the Paris region before 2 p.m. Saturday, and before 12 p.m. Sunday.

For Monday, it is advisable to go even earlier, before 11am.
