This evening, the cinema audience watched the Danish feature film, Another Tour in the Canadian Cinema Damascus, which is produced in 2020, directed by Thomas Venterberg, screenplay by Lewinterberg and Tobias Lindholm, starring Mads Mikkelsen and Thomas Beau Larsen.
The 117-minute film deals with the midlife crisis and failure in social relations and work through a topic related to the culture of the northern European population and the extent to which these peoples are linked to the habit of drinking alcohol and its impact on human behavior.
Regarding the selection of the film, director Rami Nidal, one of the supervisors of the Cinema House, said in a statement to SANA: “The director completed through this film a theme he started in the 1998 film Celebration as a kind of celebration of life, especially after the death of his daughter four days before filming began, which he dedicated the film to her soul at the end. tape.
Noting that the screening of the film is an opportunity to see the cinematic production in the countries of Northern Europe.
Nidal pointed out that director Winterberg founded the Dogma School of Cinema in partnership with the Danish director Lars von Trier in the nineties of the last century.
The movie Another Tour was shown for the first time at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2020, and won several awards, including the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2021, and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Director.
It is noteworthy that the General Film Organization launched the Cinema House project two years ago, and it recently returned after a hiatus to present its shows at Al-Kindi Cinema in Damascus.
