"The applicant situation is coming to a head," says the DIHK.
More than four out of ten IHK training companies would not have been able to fill all the training positions offered in 2021 - an all-time high.
Berlin - The situation on the training market has worsened again from the point of view of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
"The applicant situation is coming to a head," said deputy DIHK general manager Achim Dercks on Thursday in Berlin.
This can be described with the sentence: "Apprenticeship is looking for an apprentice."
It has never been more difficult for companies to find suitable trainees.
The DIHK spoke of the alarming results of a survey of around 15,000 training companies nationwide.
More than four out of ten IHK training companies could not have filled all the training positions offered last year.
This is an all-time high.
More than one in three of these companies did not receive a single application.
Due to corona-related restrictions, career orientation, career advice and the search for a training place are still considerably more difficult.
Then there is the demographic development.
