After the many summer operations and the large contingent at the "Brass-Wiesn", the BRK-Freising takes stock.

The high number of guests had taken its toll

It wasn't long ago that the

Red Cross on standby and lifeguards secured the "Brass Wiesn"

in

Eching

with a large contingent .

The

156 volunteers and helpers

came from all over Bavaria to support the

readiness and water rescue service in Eching

in

securing this medical security

service .

More missions for the BRK Freising: More than 30 paramedics were sometimes deployed at the same time

At peak times, more than 30 volunteer paramedics were on duty at the same time to ensure safety in the treatment tent, on the ambulances and on foot patrol.

The water rescue team secured the Echinger See with increased personnel for the entire duration of the festival.

In addition, the Rapid Deployment Group for Water Rescue was always on standby to provide support.

At the rescue station in Eching, a large number of volunteers were also involved in providing food, duty planning and technical operations.

The Red Cross volunteers had a total of over 450 supplies in four days - from small blister plasters to emergency medical services, everything was there.

17 patients had to be transported to a hospital by the public rescue service for further treatment.

Compared to 2019, that is almost 200 more fittings.

On the one hand, this can be attributed to the increased number of visitors as well as to the high temperatures, which caused many operations.

The majority of the supplies were minor supplies, i.e. small patches or a change of bandage.

More missions for the BRK Freising: support with the evacuation

On Friday evening, a storm caused the festival site to be evacuated for a short time.

As part of the evacuation, the Erding integrated control center triggered the full alarm for the rapid deployment groups (SEG) of the Freising district with the keyword "care situation".

The forces alerted by radio alarms moved from their locations in Marzling near Freising, Moosburg and Eching to the gym in Eching.

The care units of the Johanniter Allershausen were also on duty.

After a good two hours, at 1.30 a.m., the organizational operations manager was able to end the operation for the almost 50 emergency services, since most of the festival visitors had found shelter in their private vehicles.

At the same time, the medical security service was also fully challenged.

Due to the strength of the wind, the treatment area on the festival site was temporarily cleared and moved to the Eching rescue station.

After the storm in Moosburg, this is the second full alarm in the district due to weather conditions this year.

More missions for the BRK Freising: Two tragic accidents at the "Brass Wiesen"

In addition to the evacuation, there were two tragic accidents during the festival.

There was a serious traffic accident between a person and a vehicle on Thursday night.

The Neufahrn police are currently asking for witnesses who may have observed the accident.

In the second case, a person who died in an accident in the Echinger Weiher, the emergency services were intensively involved in the search measures from Saturday afternoon, both on land, in the air and in the water.

The operations management of the BRK and all helpers wish the family and friends a lot of strength in this difficult time!

“Our volunteers experience an enormous willingness to help among festival visitors and often come to operations where first-class first aid has already been provided, as many festival visitors work in the voluntary fire brigade or in the medical field.

That makes us very happy and helps us enormously," says Marcel Huber, head of the medical service for the Red Cross in the district and head of the medical guard service at the "Brass-Wiesn".
