According to a report, the Edeka association is again in dispute with Milka manufacturer Mondelez.
One reason for this could be the cheaper Milka price in the Netherlands.
Hamburg – This dispute seems to have no end: The Edeka association, Germany's largest supermarket chain, and Mondelez, manufacturer of the popular Milka chocolate brand, are at odds again.
Already at the beginning of the year there were disputes about the delivery conditions.
Edeka and Milka manufacturers in dispute over purchase prices
Now the dispute seems to have flared up again after several months: ordered goods are not delivered, writes the
Lebensmittelzeitung
and refers to orphaned chocolate shelves in the supermarkets.
The dispute is said to be about the purchase price.
According to the newspaper, one reason for this could be that the Milka bar is cheaper abroad than in Germany.
The purple chocolate brand is cheaper in the standard range in the supermarkets in the Netherlands than in Germany, writes the
Lebensmittelzeitung
.
And in France, a pack of three only costs 2.99 euros.
In Germany, a Milka bar in the standard Edeka range is sold for 1.29 euros.
A look at the neighboring countries is likely to annoy German retailers, who boast of their lowest prices compared to other European countries.
Edeka and Mondelez did not want to comment on request.
Edeka subsidiary hands out against manufacturer Mars
Mondelez is not the only confectionery manufacturer with which the Edeka group is currently in a clinch.
At least that's what a Facebook post by the Edeka subsidiary Netto suggests.
The discounter not only advertises in it
its own brand, but also hands out properly against the manufacturer Mars, who is demanding "unreasonable price increases".
