The energy crisis could lead to a regional gas shortage.
However, this will only be temporary, as Klaus Müller from the Federal Network Agency estimates.
In Germany, there could be a regional gas shortage in winter
The goal of 85 percent filling is "very ambitious"
German gas-fired power plants have produced more electricity
Berlin – In the coming winter there could be a gas shortage in Germany, at least regionally.
This is the Bundesnetzagentur's assessment of the energy crisis.
Authorities chief Klaus Müller told the news portal
t-online
in an interview that was published on Thursday (August 18): "The restrictions would probably be temporary at first and can end again or occur several times." If that's the case, you have to transport the gas across the country.
Müller considers it likely that there will be a regional gas shortage.
"But maybe things are even going a little better," the expert has hope.
But for that to happen, there would have to be more gas imports in the coming year.
These could come from two private liquid terminals to be completed as soon as possible.
In addition, additional gas should come from France.

Energy Crisis: Reservoirs will not be fully replenished before winter
"Then we could assume that we'll be able to fill up our storage tanks more quickly next summer." Müller doesn't believe that all storage tanks could be completely filled before winter.
“In all of our scenarios, we missed an average filling level of 95 percent on November 1st.
We will hardly be able to do that because individual storage tanks started from a very low level.”
Müller believes that achieving the 85 percent target is “not impossible, but very ambitious”.
The first goal had even been reached ahead of time.
The goal was to reach a filling level of 75 percent by September.
This already happened last weekend (13th/14th August).
Energy crisis: Significantly more electricity from gas-fired power plants
In July of this year, German gas-fired power plants produced significantly more electricity than a year ago, thus reacting to the energy crisis.
As can be seen from the electricity market data portal Smard of the Federal Network Agency, this increase is 13.5 percent.
