Today, the World Health Organization announced that Corona virus infections decreased by 24 percent globally, compared to last year.
The organization said in a statement: That last week, 5.4 million new infections with the Corona virus were recorded, which represents a decrease of 24 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
She added that the rate of decline amounted to about 40 percent in Africa and Europe, while it reached a third in the Middle East.
Regarding deaths from corona, the death rate in the Western Pacific and Southeast Asia increased by 31 percent and 12 percent, respectively, but decreased or remained stable in other places.
For his part, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, indicated in a press conference that deaths from the Corona virus during the past month rose by 35 percent, pointing out that 15,000 deaths occurred in the past week.
According to the American Johns Hopkins University, the number of confirmed infections with the emerging coronavirus around the world rose today to 593 million and 359 thousand and 909 cases.
In the latest statistics published by the university on its website, the university confirmed that the total deaths from infection with the coronavirus around the world reached 6,445,674 cases.
