According to media reports, Daniel Scherning will be the new coach of Arminia Bielefeld, who have been relegated to the Bundesliga.
As several media reported on Thursday, the East Westphalians have agreed on a cooperation with the coach of the third division club VfL Osnabrück.
Arminia had previously separated from Uli Forte after the false start with four league bankruptcies in a row.
Bielefeld – Scherning still had a contract in Osnabrück until 2023, so a transfer fee should be due.
Born in Paderborn, he had already worked for Arminia between 2010 and 2016 as assistant and head coach of the second team.
The 38-year-old is scheduled to lead training for the first time this Thursday.
Forte only took over as coach in Bielefeld at the beginning of the season.
The 48-year-old Italian, who was in charge of a German club for the first time, had a difficult time right from the start. In the first competitive game he saw a red card that was later described as "by mistake" and lost with his team at SV Sandhausen.
Under their new coach, Bielefeld only had to counter three further defeats in the league against Jahn Regensburg, Hansa Rostock and Hamburger SV with a 7:1 in the DFB Cup at Oberliga club SV Engers 07.
