Because of the women's cycle race at the European Championships, there is a ban on stopping in Munich.

The police want to tow away illegally parked cars from Saturday, 8 p.m.

Munich – Stress test for the police: About 1000 cars were parked last weekend.

Background: Due to the men's road bike race and the marathon competitions as part of the European Championships, numerous streets in downtown Munich were closed.

The officials were still trying to reduce the number of towing vehicles - but in the end around 340 vehicles had to be transported away.

Often to the annoyance of local residents (tz reported).

Don't let that happen again this weekend!

European Championships: Cycle races on Sunday in Munich – there is a risk of being towed away

Because on Sunday there is another bike race, this time for women.

The start is in Landsberg, via Lake Ammer and Lake Starnberg to the Isar and from the south of Munich via Pullach in the direction of the city centre.

Two laps are shot there: From Theresienwiese via Stachus, Siegestor and Friedensengel to Ludwigstraße.

The stopping bans in the city center apply from Saturday 8 p.m.

"Then we'll start with the towing, otherwise we won't be finished by morning," says Roland Helmig, police operations manager.

European Championships: Drone flew over the Olympic Park – the police identified photographers from Italy

Otherwise, Helmig draws a largely positive interim conclusion.

"Our police concept worked very well," he says.

The negative highlight was certainly the anti-Semitic incident on Tuesday evening.

As reported, a 19-year-old Berliner had shown the forbidden "Hitler salute" in the direction of an Israeli delegation.

The Munich Public Prosecutor's Office has taken over the investigation of the security service members.

Helmig announced that no proceedings had been initiated against his three colleagues who were also on duty during the incident.

Excitement away from the sports facilities also prevailed on Wednesday around 10.30 p.m. in the Olympic Park.

A drone flew over the big stage at the Olympiasee – and probably partly at an unacceptable height.

The police identified a 33-year-old photographer from Italy as a suspect.

Apparently he was supposed to take pictures of the nearby BMW site.

He is now awaiting fine proceedings under the Air Traffic Act.

The police seized the memory card.
