The Russian Federal Security Service announced the dismantling of a terrorist cell of 8 people in Moscow and a number of cities in Siberia.
The agency said in a statement today: “8 people from Central Asian countries were arrested in the cities of Krasnoyarsk, Moscow and Novosibirsk, and the cell of the international terrorist organization (Unification and Jihad) was thwarted, and their means of communication, electronic media and bank cards were confiscated.” .
The statement added that the members of the cell were financing terrorist organizations in Syria and were also calling for the organization of terrorist acts in Russia.
It is noteworthy that this international terrorist organization was behind the explosions that took place in the subway in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg in April 2017, and was classified by a Russian military court as a terrorist organization in 2019.
