"The secret files in Helfendorf" is the exciting topic of the new play by the Ayinger Gmoa Kultur (AGK).

In an interview, director and screenwriter Marcus Everding from Aying gives a little insight into what the audience can expect.

Mr Everding, this is the eleventh time that you have penned a piece of the Ayinger Gmoa culture.

Somehow it seems to fit well between you.

In 2004 I would not have believed that since the Emmerami Festival so many of my plays have been performed in the Ayinger municipal area.

It is definitely something special that an amateur players' club can afford to hire a professional as a screenwriter and director.

And by the way, the working conditions are also accepted.

Because I don't differentiate between amateur and professional players.

This is no walk in the park for the amateur actors.

I have a lot of respect for everyone for that.

And it looks like it won't be the last piece together.

This year's play had to have something to do with Helfendorf and its anniversary.

To be honest, it was a bit of a coincidence that my colleague brought me to a note on the Internet two years ago.

For Bavarian history, this note with a reference to Helfendorf is certainly not of great importance.

But when it comes to the question of history, I'm always moved by the question: what would have happened if things hadn't happened at a point in time "x"?

This is where a screenwriter comes in.

There is an event in 1875 that had to do with Helfendorf.

From this I was able to develop an exciting play.

Tell me more.

Let's put ourselves in the year 1875. The German Empire is not particularly old.

On the Bavarian side, the enthusiasm for this imposed monarchy was limited, especially since topics such as civil marriage or the pulpit paragraph caused a lot of explosive things at the Catholic level.

This is the time when we and the Helfendorf secret files find themselves.

It's a political and village thriller of the first order.

With players at the top and ordinary villagers.

A vision, a scandal, a plan that would have completely rewritten the history of Helfendorf.

Who knows what would have become of this place if the creators had succeeded.

And it very close.

There are also names, are they all fictitious?

partly, partly.

It's about a secret consortium led by a lady from the high nobility.

She is planning a large-scale project.

The protagonists are Leopold von Bachler, Colonel in the Bavarian army, Carl Malwege, a speculator who made his money in the stock market crash of 1873, Ludwig Brandhuber from Helfendorf, former boy of Colonel von Bachler, and Prelate Hemberger from the ordinariate.

Together they want to change the history of the village, they want to write history.

But not everyone wants that.

So we have politics, religion and money, topics that need a historical thriller.

And: some names are of course fictitious.

But Saint Emmeram and King Ludwig II will also play a role.

Are the preparations already underway?

Yes, of course.

I always make sure, nine months to a year before the performance, that the amateur actors can read the texts.

There were already text rehearsals with my assistant, we really start rehearsals at the end of August.

We have 18 actors who will then reveal the Helfendorf secret files.

I really enjoy the game of probabilities.

And I'm sure that the visitors will have an exciting stay in the Christmas tree yard.
