The district court in Nazareth today (Thursday) rejected the state's appeal and ordered the release of retired superintendent Nisso Shaham on early release.
Shavas officials stated that Shaham is expected to be released from prison.
The release is delayed for 48 hours to allow the state to appeal.
The decision was made by a majority of two judges with one dissenting.
The state appealed the decision of the parole board of the prison service, which stated that Shaham's prison term should be shortened at the end of about half of the prison term he was sentenced to.
Shaham, a senior police officer, was convicted of fraud and breach of trust, indecent act and sexual harassment, and was sent to 10 months in prison, which he began serving last March.
