The emptying of the waste bins in the district of Starnberg can currently be delayed by one day.

A lack of staff at the removal company is currently causing the emptying of bins and the collection of the yellow bag to be postponed.

Those affected should simply leave the bins for a day longer.

District

– Waste disposal in the district is currently stagnating.

Due to vacation time and illness, the company Remondis, which was commissioned to remove the bins, has experienced staff shortages, which have led to the tours being postponed.

This has never happened before in the district.

However, the bins should not remain empty for long, assures Sebastian Roth, spokesman for the municipal company AWISTA.

The municipal company announced yesterday that the removal cannot currently be carried out in the way that citizens are used to.

In concrete terms, this means for bin owners: If containers are not taken with you in the evening on the usual day of emptying or yellow bags on the day of collection, they should simply be left where they are.

"The containers will definitely be emptied in the next few days," Roth said.

Efforts are being made to solve the problem as quickly as possible in cooperation with Remondis.

Temporary drivers don't know streets that well

In the past few weeks, there have been isolated cases in communities where bins were not emptied on the announced day.

At the beginning of the week, however, the problem worsened - which, according to Roth, was reflected in the many calls to AWISTA.

In Andechs, for example, the removal did not work as usual.

One of the reasons is that substitute drivers drive the tours, who are not very familiar with the district and therefore need a little longer to drive down the streets.

If roads have not been driven, this is reported to Remondis - and followed up promptly.

If you have any questions about waste disposal, the AWISTA service center is the right contact on (0 81 51) 2 72 60 from Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - even for bins that have not been emptied.
