A 500-meter exclusion zone has been set up around the World War II bomb that was found in Berlin-Friedrichshain at Ostkreuz.
The police published a picture of the restricted area on Twitter.
Accordingly, all buildings in the area are evacuated, all people would have to leave the marked area.
"They help the emergency services on site if you are already leaving the area on your own," it said.
Berlin - The 500-kilogram bomb from World War II was discovered around 11:45 a.m. during construction work on the corner of Persiusstrasse and Bödikerstrasse, roughly between the Spree and Ostkreuz train station.
The detonator of the bomb should be defused on site, said a police spokeswoman.
It was initially unclear how many residents were affected.
