A Wendy's employee is charged with murder after punching a customer in the head who complained about his service

A Wendy's restaurant employee in Arizona was charged with murder after punching a 67-year-old customer, knocking him to the ground and killing him days later by hitting his head, police said this week.

Antoine Kendrick, 35, was serving behind the counter on July 26 when he took a man's order around 4:40 pm local time, according to the Prescott Valley Police Department.

But things took a turn when the customer complained about the service received, according to a statement.

Surveillance footage released by Phoenix station KPHO-TV shows the customer eating ice cream when a man comes out from behind the counter, approaches him and punches him in the head.

"The client fell to the ground, hitting his head and lost consciousness," police said.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition.

On August 5, he died, not exceeding the severity of the brain injuries, according to the authorities, who did not reveal the identity of the victim.

Kendrick was initially arrested and charged with aggravated assault, but after the client's death he was charged with second-degree murder.

He is currently still in prison, according to prison records.
