China warned the US side today of the consequences of miscalculation of its firm resolve to defend its sovereignty, integrity and territorial integrity.
"We are resolutely determined to defend our national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and we urge the US side not to misjudge this matter," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin was quoted as saying by Xinhua.
Wang's remarks came in response to a statement made by US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kreitenberg on US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan.
The context, cause and course of events are quite clear, Wang said, adding that it was the United States that reneged on its commitment to the one-China principle and undermined China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, not the other way around, stressing that China's resolute response to the US provocation is logical, legitimate and justified, which has been widely understood and supported by the before the international community.
Wang pointed out that it was the US leaders who went to Taiwan to support the separatist activities of the so-called (Taiwan independence), not the Chinese who went to the United States to support the independence of Alaska, stressing that the only solution to this problem is to return to the commitment to the three joint communiques.
Between China and the United States and the (one China) principle rather than shirk responsibility, ignore blame and act recklessly to create a bigger crisis.
