Wolfgang Kubicki is in favor of putting Nord Stream 2 into operation.
A craftsmen's association fears Germany's financial ruin.
Berlin – FDP Vice Wolfgang Kubicki is in favor of opening the Nord Stream 2 Baltic Sea pipeline.
The aim is to improve the gas supply.
"We should open Nord Stream 2 as soon as possible to fill our gas storage facilities for the winter," Kubicki told the
editorial network Germany
.
There is "no good reason not to open Nord Stream 2".
"If more gas reaches us in this way, perhaps even the entire contractually guaranteed quantity, that will help people not have to freeze in winter and our industry will not suffer serious damage," emphasized Kubicki.
Ensuring this is the top priority of the federal government.
Precisely for this reason, other pipelines from Russia were not cut.
Craftsmen demand the end of sanctions against Russia from Scholz
Kubicki is not alone in his demands.
The Halle-Saalekreis District Craftsmen's Association also calls on Olaf Scholz (SPD) to act.
The sanctions against Russia must end.
“We as craftsmen know from many conversations with our customers that the vast majority is not willing to sacrifice their hard-earned standard of living for Ukraine.
It's not our war either!", it says, and: "Do you want to be the chancellor who drove Germany to ruin.
Do you really want to sacrifice your country?”
The district craftsman criticized Russia's attack on Ukraine as a serious crime and "a clear violation of Article 2 of the UN Charter".
However, they are "worried about the future of our children and grandchildren, worried about the continued existence of our businesses, worried about our country".
Russia sanctions: “You want to put Germany at risk for this?”
In addition, Ukraine cannot be considered a flawless democratic state.
The craftsmen refer to a publication by Transparency International, in which the country took 122nd place in corruption in 2021 - no other European country did worse.
"And you want to put Germany at risk for that?" criticize the 16 signatories from all guilds.
If prices continue to rise, the “average earner” will soon no longer be able to pay for his living.
