The athletes gave their best at the EM cycle race through Fürstenfeldbruck.
The eventful day ended with the Champions Night in the city centre.
Fürstenfeldbruck - It was possibly the highlight of the summer in the city: the European Championships.
Thousands of visitors cheered on the athletes along the route.
In the evening, the Champions Night in the city center brought the big event day to a close.
Despite the summer temperatures, it was well heated up there again.
European Championships in Fürstenfeldbruck: Colorful program in the city center
From the town hall to Hauptstrasse and Schöngeisinger Strasse to the Viehmarktplatz, the city and city marketing offered a colorful program for Brucker and guests.
The shops invited to late night shopping and were open until 10 p.m.
After the end of the men's cycle race around 7 p.m., some of the spectators were drawn to the center.
"Until then it was still quiet and from 7 p.m. our café was completely full," reports Alessio Melas from the Roma ice cream café on Schöngeisinger Straße.
“Every seat was occupied.” Italian aperitifs such as Hugo or Aperol Spritz were particularly in demand on the balmy summer evening.
"But there were also a lot of families out and about – they mainly wanted ice cream." According to Melas, it only got quieter shortly before 10 p.m. after the fireworks at the Viehmarktplatz had started.
Curious: Chair of champions stolen
On the fringes of the European Championships, shortly after the men's award ceremony, there was a curious incident.
As Peter Werthmann from the Munich police reports, the "Hot Seat" (in German: "Hot Seat") was stolen.
The current first in the race usually sits on this in the hope that he will not be pushed off the seat by the competition.
After the ceremony, there was no trace of the chair that was on the stage at the finish line.
The damage is estimated at 2000 euros.
With the fire show "Pyrostyx" the city had organized an impressive end to the big day of events.
Before that, so-called walking acts would parade through the streets dressed as aliens or gentlemen.
But there were also historical things for visitors to hear and see in the city center: City guide Petra Vögele presented stories from Fürstenfeldbruck together with Aline Pronnet and Andreas Harwarth from the Neue Bühne Bruck - accompanied by musical contributions.
European Championships: Mayor satisfied - "All expectations exceeded"
Mayor Erich Raff was satisfied after the event day: "From my side, all expectations were exceeded." The atmosphere around the two races during the day and in the city center in the evening was exuberant and happy.
"You could get very close to the athletes on the monastery site, that was great," says the head of the town hall.

According to Raff, there was only one expectation that was not quite fulfilled: fewer people than hoped were in the city center at the Champions Night.
"All in all, it was an absolutely successful day for the city."
The emergency services involved in the EM cycle race were also satisfied.
The district association of the Bavarian Red Cross recorded 14 missions.
"These were mostly due to the heat," says spokesman Rainer Bertram.
