With a fire alarm in the Starnberg Clinic - fortunately a false alarm - the problem of the Osswaldstraße shows up again this week.

she is too tight

Therefore, as decided, parking spaces will be eliminated from September or October.

Starnberg

– Several fire brigades and the rescue service moved to the Starnberg Clinic on Wednesday afternoon – the automatic fire alarm system had sounded the alarm.

Luckily there was no fire, according to Starnberg's commander Markus Grasl, the sensor had produced a false alarm for no apparent reason.

The weirs from Starnberg and Söcking were deployed.

The traffic situation on Osswaldstrasse was once again a problem for the emergency services.

The problem has existed for years and should actually be solved with a decision by the city council's traffic committee in January this year.

The committee had unanimously decided to delete more than 30 parking spaces along Oßwaldstraße and thus create parking spaces for rescue and fire-fighting vehicles.

The fire brigade and rescue service had stated that the parked vehicles actually only left one lane free for the emergency vehicles to stand on - this means that Osswaldstraße is blocked, not only for drivers but also for the buses.

And: Should there actually be an emergency in the hospital and an evacuation becomes necessary, many ambulances would arrive – for which there would then also be no space.

Therefore, the more than 30 parking spaces should be eliminated.

The committee did not recognize a general lack of parking spaces in January and therefore voted in favor.

It was already foreseeable at the time that the measure would not be implemented overnight.

According to city hall spokeswoman Lena Choi, there were also delays due to the well-known problem of individual departments of the city administration - work overload.

After fire protection issues have been clarified, the change in parking options is now to be implemented in September or October of this year.

The depot will then take over the implementation.

On Wednesday, the fire brigade closed the road without further ado, which ties up staff.

In an emergency, this is needed elsewhere.
