Thousands of hectares reduced to ashes.
Since the beginning of the summer, France has been burning everywhere, from the Ardèche to Maine-et-Loire, via the Landes, the Gironde, the Jura and even the Isère.
And if most of these dantesque fires were started accidentally - nine out of ten it is estimated - some are the work of criminals, sometimes arsonists, who enjoy seeing flames rising beyond the treetops, swallowing entire forests.
This is why, systematically, an investigation is opened each time a fire breaks out.
Since the beginning of the summer, 26 of these malicious individuals have been arrested, some caught in the act.
