Flood warning for Isar: "Danger to life and limb"

The district office issued a flood warning for the Isar for the weekend.

The level of the Isar is expected to rise significantly in the coming days.
According to the district office, there is "danger to life and limb" in and on the river.
District - The district office warns of flooding in the Isar and appeals to all those seeking relaxation to be vigilant and not to put themselves in danger unnecessarily.
According to the press release, the Isar already has higher water levels than usual.
Due to the heavy rainfall announced for Saturday, August 20th, the Isar will continue to rise.
The levels are currently just below reporting level 2 according to the flood news service.
The Isar is clouded over by these increased water levels.
With the strong current to be expected and the increased occurrence of flotsam, there is considerable danger to life and limb for boaters and bathers on and on the Isar.
Numerous obstacles can also form under the water surface, which are usually difficult or impossible for boaters to see due to the murky water.
Boat trips on the Isar are therefore strongly discouraged.
In recent years, there have already been accidents in comparable water conditions.
People had to be rescued from the Isar.
In these cases, it is no longer possible to get out of the river on your own.
