The working symposium of the four artists Ingrid Floss, Bernd Schwarting, Friedemann Grieshaber and Clemens Heil in Altomünster is over.

They stayed in the market town for a week and received a lot of feedback.

The artists themselves are also impressed.

Altomünster – The four artists Ingrid Floss (painter), Bernd Schwarting (painter) and the two sculptors Friedemann Grieshaber and Clemens Heinl were officially in the municipality of Altomünster for a week – some even longer.

The aim of the working symposium was mutual exchange through discussion, lectures and observation.

The artists also let us look over their shoulders.

Because the exchange among themselves and with the Altomünsteren was important to them and apparently succeeded.

Ingrid Floss is impressed.

“Six days of intensive conversations, long nights, little rest, a lot of inspiration, many pictures that have been started and people that we have come to love.

All of this can now continue to develop in peace.”

Artist symposium in Altomünster over

Bernd Schwarting, who has often stayed in Altomünster, found the symposium to be like this: “The distances to the artist talks at the places where they worked in Altomünster were wonderfully short.

The encounters with interested citizens were very lively and interesting.

I can take new inspiration for my painting with me.” Overall, there was a nice symbiosis of art and the market community.

Friedemann Grieshaber takes new impulses for the work with him and wants more, "even if, as a material sculptor, I think and work more locally due to gravity.

Great respect and thanks to everyone involved,” said Grieshaber.

Clemens Heinl sees it this way: “The nice thing about symposia is having great encounters, nice activities and stimulating discussions.

And to crown this symposium, carrying out the sawing campaign on the market square with the mayor.

It was a great encounter, many thanks to the Altomünsterer.”

“Overwhelmed by the positive response from the population”

The focal point for the organization and implementation of the art week was the community's symposium officer, Susanne Allers.

It had already received a lot of praise when it opened – including from prominent politicians such as District Administrator Stefan Löwl.

She told the Dachauer Nachrichten that she was "overwhelmed by the positive response from the population".

In addition, “something surprising developed, like the campaign with the mayor.

And plans for the future have already been made, such as a workshop with Clemens Heinl and master carpenter Georg Huber.

I'm very excited to see how everything will develop further," says Allers happily.

Not only artists were enthusiastic

"Totally enthusiastic," says culture officer Susanne Köhler.

The atmosphere was relaxed and open from the start.

She also thought it was “cool” that Mayor Michael Reiter, a trained master carpenter, made a virtue out of necessity and worked on his work of art with a chainsaw under the guidance of Clemens Heinl, who had an injured shoulder (we reported).

"I had the impression that the artists felt comfortable," says Köhler.

In any case, Heinl wants to come back in October.

Eventually, among other things, he wants to finish his carved sculpture.
