On the handlebars of a motorcycle prohibited on the public highway, a young man drove straight into police vehicles which were parked for control.

A leak of the most summary.

While agents of the national police and the municipal police were setting up an anti-rodeo operation, this Friday August 19, in the Beauval district of Meaux, a young man riding his motocross headed straight for the forces of order.

He then tried to flee in a barely believable way, by throwing himself into the Canal de l'Ourcq.

The incident took place around 4 p.m.

About fifteen police officers are mobilized, boulevard des Cosmonautes, in order to avoid possible urban rodeos in the district.

As soon as they arrive, a young biker heads towards them in a bend and lies down on the ground.

His unapproved vehicle ends its journey by hitting a police car.

The police were waiting for him on the other side of the canal

The driver, who is not wearing a helmet, refuses the police check and tries to flee.

He then finds a way to dive into the Canal de l'Ourcq, located a few meters away, and very quickly reaches the opposite bank.

Surprise on arrival: several police officers are waiting for him and question him.

He was then transported to the Meaux police station and placed in police custody.

An investigation has been opened.

For its part, the motocross was treated to a tow truck trip to the pound.

Indeed, the vehicle not being approved it does not have the right to circulate on the public road.

In addition, controls have been reinforced in recent days in the department, in particular in Gretz-Armainvilliers, Lagny-sur-Marne and Moissy-Cramayel, where a motocross and a pocket bike were seized this week.

On Twitter, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced, on August 16, a strengthening of anti-rodeo operations.

Each police station is instructed to carry out at least three checks a day from now on.

An announcement which follows several accidents, including that of a 7-year-old girl in Val-d'Oise seriously injured, or the murder of a 27-year-old in Colmar, on August 14, after an altercation linked to an urban rodeo.
