An investigation for "
murder of a minor under the age of 15
" was opened by the Montargis prosecutor's office, after the suspicious death of a one-month-old baby whose autopsy revealed traces of violence and an "
asphyxial cause
" .
The body of the child, a boy born in July, was discovered Monday August 15 by the firefighters and the Samu in Bray-Saint-Aignan (Loiret), according to the parquet floor of Montargis.
“Many fractures”
The emergency services had received a call from the grandmother who said "
to have discovered him deceased in his cradle
", indicated Friday in a press release the public prosecutor of Montargis Loïc Abrial.
The prosecution and criminal investigation technicians from the Orléans gendarmerie had gone to the scene.

The autopsy carried out on Wednesday at the forensic institute of Tours revealed "
many fractures in the child's ribs, some old, others very recent
," said the same source.

Bruises on the scalp
” were also noted by the medical examiner who “
concluded death from asphyxiation
”, according to Loïc Abrial.
Parents deny cause of death

In view of these elements, there was no doubt that the baby had suffered violence from one or more people
," added the magistrate.
Placed in police custody on Wednesday, "
the father and mother of the child, aged 20 and 22 respectively, without profession and without previous conviction by the courts
", did not admit to being at the origin of the death of the child, according to the prosecutor.

An investigation "

“
Given the penalty incurred for this crime, namely life imprisonment
”, the magistrate announced that he would relinquish the file to the benefit of the Orleans prosecutor, “
for the purpose of opening criminal information
”.
The investigations are entrusted to the research brigade of Gien and the gendarmerie brigade of Sully-sur-Loire.
