The Secretary General of Hezbollah referred in his speech to the talks between Israel and Lebanon: "We need to keep an eye on the American mediator, he is wasting time" • He also emphasized that there is no connection between the issue and the possibility of a nuclear agreement being signed between the powers and Iran

Continues to threaten:

Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah spoke this evening (Friday) to his supporters in eastern Lebanon, and announced that if his country does not accept its demands in negotiations on the maritime border with Israel - the terrorist organization will escalate.

"The issue of the maritime border, Sde Harish and the issue of oil and gas has nothing to do with the nuclear agreement," Nasrallah clarified regarding the exchange of proposals between the powers and Iran in recent days.

"Whether an agreement is signed or not, if the Lebanese state gets what it wants - there will be peace. In the event that Lebanon does not obtain its rights - we are going to escalate, whether a nuclear agreement is signed or not."

Also, the leader of the terrorist organization added that "the eyes should be on the shark, on the maritime border and on the American mediator, who is still wasting the time that is running out."

Yesterday, sources told the Lebanese newspaper "Al-Bana'" that "the resistance will soon send a military message to the Israeli enemy as a response to the policy of procrastination and maneuvering on the issue."

The sources estimated that the message would come before mediator Amos Hochstein's visit to Lebanon, which is expected to take place in the last week of August.

The Lebanese newspaper learned that the mediator is in Greece and at the end of the month he will meet with senior officials in Beirut who are waiting for Israel's answer to their proposal regarding the maritime border.

The conflict between Israel and Lebanon over the maritime border revolves around the way it is drawn.

While Israel draws a line at a more northerly angle from the coastline, in accordance with international practice, Lebanon draws it at a more southerly angle, at a line known as point 23. This creates a kind of triangle measuring about 850 km, which is in dispute between the countries.

We note that the Asada Harish is not in this area, but is included in part only in the line drawn at an angle more southerly than the original Lebanese position.

The American mediator recently visited Beirut and met with its senior leadership.

It is believed that the Lebanese now claim Point 23, in addition to the entire Cana field.

This is a potential area for gas detection, crossed by point 23. In other words, it seems that the Lebanese are sticking to their original position, and are demanding another enclave into Israel's territorial waters.
