The "Iran International" news channel reported that the person who operated in Istanbul is Rohollah Bazkandi, the commander of the Intelligence Unit 1500 in the Revolutionary Guards.

Rohollah Bazkandi, the commander of Intelligence Unit 1500 in the Revolutionary Guards, is the intelligence officer who planned attacks against Israelis in Turkey, as revealed today (Friday) by the international news channel in the Persian language "Iran International".

The media outlet based in London and with an anti-establishment line quoted an Iranian source who describes the great frustration that apparently exists within the Revolutionary Guards against the senior.

The source, who spoke anonymously, claimed that Bazakandi was responsible, among other things, for the removal of Hossein Taib, the head of the intelligence unit in the Revolutionary Guards for the past 13 years last June.

All this due to a series of failed operations abroad, chief among them the intention to harm Israelis in Istanbul, earlier that month.

As you may remember, the incident caused great embarrassment and a breakdown in relations between Istanbul and Tehran, an affair that included the arrest of Iranian citizens on Turkish territory, according to local media.

The vacuum created since then was used in Jerusalem to renew diplomatic relations between the countries.

Much criticism was hurled against Taib within the Islamic Republic, an objection that included, among other things, a letter that reached Khamenei's hands detailing a series of failures under the responsibility of the senior who headed the intelligence organization of the Revolutionary Guards.

The thwarting of terrorist attacks on Turkish soil by Israel, the elimination of scientists and senior officers in the IRGC's aviation and space unit in recent months, as well as the deep infiltration of Western intelligence agencies at the top of Iran's power - these are just some of the reasons why Taib was allegedly ousted.
