Roubaix: urban violence after anti-rodeo operations

An investigation was opened on Friday August 19 after nighttime disturbances in Roubaix (North), indicated the Departmental Directorate of Public Security (DDSP), indicating that it will have to determine whether this violence follows anti-rodeo operations.

in a context of intensification of operations against drug trafficking and rodeos

", indicated a police officer from the DDSP.

Stone throwing and fireworks

About 15 people protested on Thursday when the police seized two quads suspected of having been used during rodeos, and one of them was arrested for contempt.

The same evening, urban violence broke out, involving a few dozen young people, with stone throwing and fireworks, the DDSP said.

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, who has set a target of three anti-rodeo operations per day for each police station, assured Tuesday on Twitter that more than 150 scooters and motorcycles had been seized in one week.
