The 61-year-old is said to have set fire to an apartment building in Riedering (Rosenheim district) the night before.

According to the police, a neighbor heard a bang around 1:45 a.m., then it caught fire.

Investigations into aggravated arson and attempted homicide

Officials from the permanent criminal investigation service (KDD) took over the first investigations into the cause of the fire that night, which are now being continued by the fire investigators from the K1 department of the Rosenheim criminal investigation department.

Based on initial findings in the fire object, the investigators assume that the fire in the house was intentionally set, which is why the public prosecutor's office and the criminal police are investigating serious arson and attempted homicide.
