The Federal Ministerial Police of Mexico arrested former Attorney General Jesús Murillo Karam this Friday, a source from the Attorney General's Office told CNN.

Murillo Karam was in charge of the former Attorney General's Office during the government of Enrique Peña Nieto and at the time directed the investigations into the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students in Iguala, Guerrero, which occurred in September 2014.
