The Pentagon announced on Friday August 19 a new tranche of military aid to Ukraine, for an amount of 775 million dollars, which notably includes additional missiles for the American Himars precision artillery systems.

This new tranche of aid also provides for the sending of mobile gun systems and additional shells compatible with armaments supplied by the United Kingdom, a senior official from the American Ministry of Defense told the press.

A senior Pentagon official also told AFP that Russian forces were showing a "
complete lack of progress on the battlefield
", citing in particular the use by Ukrainian forces of Himar missiles.
