President Yitzhak Herzog spoke today (Friday) with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The two spoke on the occasion of the resumption of full diplomatic relations between the countries, which was declared peace, and included the return of the ambassadors and consuls general and the resumption of Israeli flights to Turkey.
The two presidents welcomed the move and expressed hope for the development of relations in all areas.
The President of Turkey thanked the President of the country for his significant efforts to promote the relations between the countries since he took office and noted favorably his conversation with Prime Minister Lapid last Wednesday.
Herzog in turn congratulated the President of Turkey for his decisive contribution to the agreement to remove wheat from Ukraine and his recent meetings with the President of Russia and the President of Ukraine.

On Wednesday, Lapid spoke with Erdogan and the two agreed on the normalization of relations.
"The leaders agreed that the latest development is an important and additional step in strengthening relations that will also lead to many achievements, with an emphasis on the areas of the economy and tourism," the Prime Minister's office said in a statement.
"These will be reflected in the renewal of Israeli flights to Turkey and in the meeting of the economic committee involved in Israel during the month of September."
