Three Palestinian women were arrested this evening (Saturday) for questioning, after seven checks at a checkpoint near Kalkiliya, a "Carlo" type weapon was found in the vehicle in which they were traveling.

The security inspectors at the "Eliyahu" crossing who stopped the car found the rifle on the floor of the vehicle and took the female passengers for questioning.



Earlier this week, IDF forces raided seven offices of Palestinian organizations in Ramallah, which were accused of having links to the terrorist organization the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. During the operation of the forces, led by Brigadier General Binyamin Col. Eliav Elbaz and with the assistance of the Security Forces, hundreds of documents and electronic equipment were confiscated From the offices of the organizations, including "Al-Haq", "The Union of Women's Committees", "The Global Movement for the Protection of Children - Palestine Branch".

At the end of the searches, the offices were sealed and closure orders were issued.

Following the raids, the spokesman for the US State Department, Ned Price, announced that the United States had demanded clarifications from Israel.

Price pointed out that Israel promised the United States to provide as soon as possible intelligence information based on which the decision was made to raid the offices of those organizations.

"We are concerned about the Israeli action," Price said.

"We made it clear to the Israelis and the Palestinian Authority that civil organizations in the West Bank and Israel should continue to work. Civil society is an inseparable part of democracy."
