Fatal swimming accident: Man collapses in Kirchsee – attempts at resuscitation unsuccessful

Dramatic scenes took place on Wednesday at Kirchsee (Sachsenkam municipality).
The bathing excursion of a 79-year-old ended in a fatal incident.

- A fatal swimming accident occurred early Wednesday evening at Kirchsee.
As reported by the Tölz police, a 79-year-old from the Munich district got into the water at around 5:55 p.m., although he was apparently already swaying slightly according to observations.
He then collapsed lifeless in the lake.

Attentive passers-by brought the man back to shore.
Other bathers and a first responder from the lifeguard immediately began resuscitation measures.
The ambulance immediately took the 79-year-old to the hospital.
There he died.
"The reason for the accident may have been a medical cause due to serious previous illnesses," writes the police.
