The Russian Defense Ministry announced today that Ukrainian forces used toxic chemicals late last month against Russian forces in the Zaporozhye region.
The RIA Novosti news agency quoted the ministry in a statement as saying that against the background of military defeats in Donbass and other regions, the regime of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky allowed the implementation of terrorist acts using chemical agents against the Russian military and civilians.
The ministry confirmed that on July 31, Russian servicemen who were performing their duties in the Vasilyevka district of the Zaporozhye region were taken to the hospital after they showed signs of poisoning, as tests revealed a highly toxic substance of the botulinum toxin type in the soldiers’ bodies.
On the other hand, a member of the Zaporozhye Provincial Administration Council, Vladimir Rogov, announced that the local authorities had thwarted a new Ukrainian attack on the Zaporozhye station.
He said that an imminent provocation attempt at the station was prevented and thwarted, explaining that on August 19, the situation was relatively calm at the station thanks to monitoring, and the attempt to provocation planned by the Ukrainians was exposed.
The consequences could have been significant, he added, noting that Kyiv would try to realize its criminal plans and carry out new provocations by bombing the station.
Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed during a telephone conversation yesterday with French President Emmanuel Macron that the bombing of the Zaporozhye nuclear plant by the Ukrainian regime forces threatens to cause a large-scale catastrophe.
