The head of a 45-year-old criminal organization was arrested this morning (Sunday) on suspicion of threats, extortion by threats, conspiracy to commit a crime and illegally placing an explosive material.

He will be brought later today for a detention extension hearing at the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court.

The suspect, a resident of Savion, was arrested at the end of an undercover investigation conducted against him in recent months by the national unit for serious and international crime investigations in Lahab 433. According to the suspicion, he tried to blackmail Israeli businessmen and persuaded them to invest money in his forex and crypto ventures, while they were visiting South Africa for their private business.

According to the suspicion, after they refused, the known criminal began to threaten the businessmen, partly by placing explosives near their homes in Israel.
