Hama-Sana
A huge fire broke out in forest and fruit trees near the town of Sulukiya, southeast of Deir Shamil, in the western Hama countryside.
The Director of the General Authority for the Management and Development of the Forest, Engineer Aufa Wassouf, said in a statement to SANA reporter that ten firefighters and their crews were directed to the location of the fire, and operations are being carried out in cooperation with the firefighting units of the Directorate of Agriculture and Civil Defense and the Hama Fire Brigade.
He pointed out that work is being done to neutralize and protect the pine trees and the people's homes from the fires that spread due to the speed of the wind.
