41% of French people are currently satisfied with the Prime Minister, against only 37% for the Head of State, according to an Ifop poll for the JDD.

Little known to the French before her appointment to Matignon, she managed to make herself known and appreciated by French people in a very short time.

Elisabeth Borne, Prime Minister for about three months, is now even more popular than Emmanuel Macron, according to Ifop's monthly barometer for the JDD, published this Sunday.

With only 37% of French people satisfied with his action (-1 point), for 63% dissatisfied, Emmanuel Macron is for the first time mostly badly perceived by all categories of the population.

"

It's unheard of for a re-elected president

," says JDD Frédéric Dabi, director general of the opinion department of Ifop.

Losing ground among business leaders (-7 points) as among senior executives (-5 points), the Head of State is also abandoned by some of the supporters of La République en Marche (-5 points).

A breakthrough among the LR electorate

A few months after taking office, Elisabeth Borne managed to pull out of the game, reversing the curve in her favour.

It brings together 41% of positive opinions in August, ie 3 points more than last month.

It is progressing in particular among young people (+12 points) and among craftsmen and traders (+9 points).

The tenant of Matignon also seduces the electorate of the Republicans, with an increase of 5 points among LR sympathizers.

However, many projects await the government, whose first council of ministers will take place this Wednesday.

The vote on the budget, the reform of unemployment insurance or the law on energy transition are likely to make sparks.

After a particularly stormy extraordinary summer session, the return to parliament in October could see the opposition, right and left, fully inflated and ready to fight.

It remains to be seen whether the popularity of the Prime Minister will resist it.
