In implementation of the directives of President Bashar al-Assad after his recent visit to Aleppo Governorate and with the aim of providing the supportive environment and the necessary facilities for the work of the owners of various economic activities within the old city in the governorate and to practice their economic activity in an optimal manner, the Syrian Telecom Company implemented ADSL gates in the Khan Al-Wazir and Al-Baron communication centers that feed the city’s markets Old fixed telephone and internet services.
The Ministry of Communications and Technology pointed out in a statement, a copy of which was received by SANA, that 800 new internet gates had been installed and operated at the Khan Al-Wazir Communication Center, in addition to the installation and operation of 650 new gateways at the Baron Telephone Center, indicating the readiness of the two centers to receive citizens wishing to obtain the service.
Syriatel and MTN Syria have also implemented new cellular stations in markets in Old Aleppo to improve cellular coverage so as to provide fourth generation services to the markets (Ahmadiya - Antioch - Khan al-Wazir). Syriatel, which provides cellular coverage to the old markets, was positively reflected in the significant improvement in cellular coverage in the old markets of Aleppo.
The ministry confirmed the continuation of work to improve communications in the city of Aleppo and its countryside within the capabilities available to fixed and cellular operators.
