After the chairman of Otzma Yehudit Ben Gabir considered adding him to his list, the agent who was convicted of spying for Israel said that the Knesset was not the place where he could contribute to the country • He expressed his appreciation for all those who "believe in true unity for the sake of the people of Israel"

After the publication in "Israel Hayom" about MK Itamar Ben Gvir's intention to offer the Jewish spy Jonathan Pollard a place on the "Otzma Yehudit" list, Pollard informed his relatives today (Sunday) that he will not join politics and said: "I think I have suffered enough."

In a conversation with close friends, Pollard explained: "I really want to contribute as much as I can to the people of Israel and the State of Israel, but running for the Knesset is not the way I can do that."

"Pollard emphasized that he greatly appreciates all those who work for the people of Israel, the Land of Israel and the Torah of Israel and expressed the hope that all those who believe with all their hearts in this world view will find a way to cooperate and act in true unity for the sake of the people of Israel," he said.

As recalled in "Israel Hayom" it was recently published that Ben Gvir is recently considering offering a place on the list to Pollard, who spied in the US for the benefit of Israel. Pollard immigrated to Israel about two years ago after a long prison term in the US.

Ben Gabir even met with Pollard and ran his name in Otzma Yehudit's internal polls.

In the meantime, Ben Gabir was also prepared to add more names to the list and recently met with a number of military personnel, rabbis and influential women to examine the possibilities for designing the new list.

The figures who have already secured their place on the list for the Knesset are the CEO of Otzma Yehudit, Yitzhak Wasserlauf, a resident of South Tel Aviv who is ranked second. After him will be Almog Cohen, a resident of Ofakim, an activist for the Negev and a former police officer.
