The head of the Supreme Judicial Committee for Elections, Judge Counselor Jihad Murad, confirmed that the judicial sub-committees in all governorates have finished deciding on all objections submitted by candidates for the local administration elections, which are scheduled for next September 18.
Murad said in a statement to SANA today that “the number of objections submitted by candidates for the local administration elections amounted to 2,525, and after studying it legally, the committee agreed to accept the objection of 2,144 candidates, and approved the decision of the nomination committees to reject 381 candidates, so the total number of candidates whose candidacy applications were accepted is 59,498 candidates entitled to Tomorrow, each of them will broadcast bulletins announcing his candidacy and stating his plan, goals, and everything related to his electoral program.”
Murad indicated that all the objections that were submitted, whether from candidates whose applications were accepted in advance and those who objected to the inclusion of their names in a sector other than the sector to which the candidate belongs, or from those whose applications for candidacy were rejected, as well as objections submitted by others against a candidate whose request was accepted by the judicial nomination committees.
