Yaron Vilnai announced today to the employees of the department about his early retirement from the organization after only one year and four months in the position • From Mahesh it was reported: "About a year ago he was asked to lead a deep organizational, operational and managerial change that was required, and he did so successfully"

Storm in the Police Department:

The head of the Investigations and Intelligence Division of the Police Investigations Department, Yaron Vilnai, informed the department's employees today (Sunday) of his early retirement from the organization after only one year and four months on the job.

Vilnai is considered the number two of the director of the Bar Menachem Foundation department and he shared with her a few months ago his intention to retire from the organization.

Vilnai in his fifties held a senior position in the Shin Bet and was brought to the Shin Bet by the director of the department Karen Bar Menachem for the position of head of the Investigations and Intelligence Division.

Vilnai was tasked, among other things, with reorganizing the department and building an organizational plan for building the department's strength, which he completed recently.

Officials in the Ministry of Defense say that his early retirement after one year and four months is for this reason.

Recently, a conflict emerged between Vilnai and another senior member of the Ministry of Defense.

The senior filed a complaint against Vilnai with the director of the Bar-Menachem department alleging inappropriate statements.

An official at the Ministry of Labor denies the statements in question and says that the complaint is based on the professional dissatisfaction of the employee and that the retirement is not related to the matter.

Vilnai's retirement leaves MASH with a shortage of the organization's senior staff: without a deputy director of MASH and now also without the head of the intelligence and investigations division.

Attorney Ila Honigman, on behalf of the complainant against Vilnai, said: "My client has been employed for over 14 years in the Ministry of Justice in senior positions and is highly regarded professionally.

In the last year, he was exposed to harsh and serious conduct on the part of Mr. Vilnai, in various aspects.

My client welcomes the system's quick handling of his complaint."

The Department of Police Investigations stated: "We received the message from the head of the Investigations and Intelligence Division at the Police Department about his request to terminate his position.

About a year ago he was asked to lead a deep organizational, operational and managerial change that was required, and he did so successfully.

We thank him for his contribution to the advancement of the department's investigations and intelligence division and wish him success in whatever he turns to."
